Content Guide

All content must be in English. Short sections of foreign language may be accepted where this is appropriate to the storyline but a full and accurate translation must be provided to EGP.

We accept works from all fiction genre but do reserve the right to decline publication for any reason.

We will also accept "New Age" or lifestyle works.

To avoid disappointment please note the following:

We will not publish works which use or rely on a significant proportion of gratuitous depictions of sex or violence, that do not contribute to the storyline.

We will not publish works that breach any UK law.

We will not publish poorly written works or works which display a high level of spelling or other gramatical errors that do not contribute to the style of writing. eg made up words of use of spelling to depict accents in dialogue are acceptable.

Please ensure that the use and spelling of names is consistent throughout the work.

The use of profane language that is not relevent to the storyline is not acceptable.

Illustrations

A reasonable number of images are permitted in the work. The author must obtain all necessary copyright permissions. Images will be printed in monochrome.

Cover

You may supply your own artwork for the cover. If you do not supply artwork EGP will design and produce a cover design. Covers are printed full colour on lightweight card and laminated for durability.

Size

Normal paperback sizes up to 135mm x 190mm (71/2" x 51/4 "). Larger sizes are available but may incur additional charges for post and packing. Portrait or landscape acceptable.  

Responsibilities of the Author

 

YOU are fully responsible in law for the content of your book. You undertake to ensure that the work does not breach any copyright, cause any deformation of character of any living person, breach any law or contain information contrary to the official secrets act or contain anything that could render EGP liable to criminal or civil prosecution. YOU must identify any work that might have content that would be unacceptable in countries outside the UK so that we may limit distribution accordingly.

YOU must identify the genre of the work, reading age group and level of depictions of a sexual or violent nature.

We reserve the right not to publish any work for any reason. However if the work is considered by EGP to exceed its guidelines we will give you the opportunity to revise your work and resubmit. If we decide not to publish your work and at our discretion we will refund the monies you have paid less an administration charge of £50.00 for each submission considered.

If your work appears to us to include content which incites or glorifies terrorism, child abuse, religious hatred, illegal or immoral acts we will not refund any moneys paid and your work will be referred to the appropriate authorities for investigation.

 

We are aware that the nature of the content of a work can, in many cases be subjective. See responsibilities of author for the assumption of legal responsibility. If you are uncertain of the nature of your content you are invited to forward a brief synopsis of your work which must include examples of areas of concern, the storyline and outcome. The synopsis should not exceed 1000 words in length. Any work we identify as likely to be acceptable will be subject to our normal criteria on formal submission.
